Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
I cannot remember seeing any polka dots on the Mobil garages during the 80's.. Where do people get this info..The Rhoads have never came over like a family who have been wealthy. Randy was probably on a wage of $200 a week while on tour. Musonia had how many students a week, at how much an hour. By the time the bills and other tutors are paid they would probably break even. Non of them come across as being 'well off' apart from Kathy who made the choice to trample grapes away from the family. She's married into wealth, so where does that leave Kelle ?... Playing piano to snotty nosed kids for $50 an hour. No wonder he's pledging to get the place decorated, he must of blew his mam's inheritence on big cigars, brandy and hookers. I rest my case...
Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
All you kind of have to do is go back through Bob Daislys public records to see what Randy was owed also. If anything Randy got a lot more because of his death, but in no way shape or form less. Delores may have sued the Osbourne’s in the late 80’s but I have never heard concrete info on it. I wonder if this is in fact true is why Ozzy paid for the Randy’s monument? Wasn’t that 1992?/10th anniversary? He always said it was just because Randy deserved more than what was there and kids were destroying the previous gravestone.
Wasnt bob’s last lawsuit a couple years ago about him being paid partial royalties on the money he thought he was getting in full? He was suing for $2 million+ just for these missing partial royalties. If Ozzy truly did Randy/Delores right I would expect 7-10 million off those two albums after everything. Then Jackson, then everything else on top of that...

Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
I'm sure anything Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake and Randy / the Rhoads family are owed from the O$bournes will be in the same pot at the end of the rainbow that Bob keeps chasing them for. I'm sure if Bob ain't getting paid the Rhoads won't be getting jack either. We can argue this point but in the RocknRoll world if you don't go chasing it up you'll never get what your owed. Plus if Randy's legacy was a wealthy one why is Kelle finding the need to pledge to keep his business premises in good maintenance. Because he hasn't got a pot to piss in, he's having to go to desparate measures to pull him out the shit. I don't know where your pulling figures like 7-10 million from. If that was the case i'm sure Kelle would be lighting up his fat cigars with $20 bills and living the life of luxury.
Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
I think there's significant amounts of speculation in this thread, rather than actual concrete facts. Also the personal stuff really helps nobody.
I have spoken openly in the past about the way Randy's legacy, has been perhaps not been handled in the most positive way. That doesn't necessarily fall entirely on the Rhoads' family though and on the face of it, this appears to be a step in a positive direction. I think speculating over their finances really isn't the right way of going about this either. I sincerely doubt anyone has actual knowledge of the Rhoads' financial situation, other than those very close to the family.
Although I am probably dreaming here, it'd be great if Kelle could perhaps come on here and provide some context to his plans. That said, the open hostility towards him doesn't make this place the most inviting. I am also unsure if he has an account. I may contact him through Facebook, although for the time being I will leave it be.

far as open hostility thread should be allowed without bashing but being objective subject to critique. it's fair game for he is the one that has went to the randy fans and asked for money.

Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
Yeah you can tell by the general opinion of the replies on this thread that the majority are not happy. Kelle has gone about this totally wrong and it makes him look cheap. If he was sincere and had good intentions he wouldn't be getting sneered at. I wish i could say it in better words, but i cannot. I've never been a fan of him and he's always lived in Randy's shadow and lived off his fame. Is he honestly doing this for the fans or is he just cashing in on their kindness. If he had not mentioned this RR museum would it of been ok to ask for help out of desparation because he doesn't have the finances to redecorate Musonia ??. Or is this his way of making a fast buck and getting this done for free ?.

Not sure if I'm the only who noticed; or I would probably have seen it here, but now the $20,000 has dropped to only $2,000 - with a full green light and a little over 16k in donations on the Kickstarter page ?? I saw it when it first went up and it was definitely asking for 20k and last time I checked it was at about 12k in donations. Wtf?

Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
Hopefully this means the RR museum at Musonia will actually be. If it wasn't just a fucking scam. I'm hopeful, but I guess we'll see.

Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
The money pledged is no guarantee that this museum will happen for definate. The whole place will need refurbished and modernised to suit this museum and i bet you the estimated amount will never be announced and the people offering up their services for free will never be discussed. The whole idea of using this RR museum as a dangled carrot to make the fans donate. All the money donated will be used over time to fix the building up and i bet the museum doesn't happen, or if it does it will be a piss poor effort. A museum isn't a few curiosity cabinets with a guitar and a dressed mannequin on display. That's the big question is the place going to be worthy of paying an entrance fee to go and see something memorable. Will this be the goal the Rhoads are looking at and will it be their finest hour and fitting tribute to Randy. This is the commitment i want to see and if it doesn't happen what will the excuses be for it not happening.

Sorry Brother
Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
It's a nice idea in principal and it is something that the Rhoads community has been desperately calling out for. We'll have to wait and see about the implementation. I've never visited Musonia, but I'm sure some of those who use this forum have and I'm sure they can perhaps give more specifics how big the building is. I think that is key for this. From the photos I've seen, Musonia is a reasonably large building, so it's possible that this could work very well if done right. I don't know what permits they'll have to obtain? Fire safety perhaps? Is it likely to be like a single route museum, where people follow a path and the exhibits are there to see, or is it an open plan museum where the exhibits are adjacent to the walls. I suppose these are the questions Kelle will want to address before starting the actual work.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:The money pledged is no guarantee that this museum will happen for definate. There is nothing we can do about the past 35 odd years at the end of the day. It's done. They've happened. Looking to the future, this could be an amazing way to re-ignite peoples interest in RR and perhaps introduce a new generation of fans.

Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
Joe i honestly think this is going to fall to pieces because of these loop holes and the costs involved. The fans have donated and they'll not see how their money is being spent. You'll have Kelle posting up a video asking for more money because the costs are above the original pledge... The museum was nothing more then a paper chase to reel the fans into helping out. Yeah i've seen videos of the inside and i can see it's potential to be a good place for a museum. But is it not just going to be what fans have already seen inside the winery. A few items inside a couple of cases. Will we ever see any architects sketches or virtual reality of what this museum will look like when its finished. It doesn't matter to me i'll never be making the visit to see it. I was fortunate to see RR in concert and i can still hear his contribution to music. I don't need to see his brother or sister as a pilgrimage homage to Randy. That's how i see it, they are what's left of his legacy and they are not getting any younger. What ever they decide to do now. This will be their final contribution to his legacy and if this doesn't happen it will be like anything connected to his legacy..it will either not happen or it will fall to pieces. Let's hope i'm wrong and it does happen and it leaves a place for the fans to visit, one that is worthy and a fitting tribute to the man RR.skezza wrote: It's a nice idea in principal and it is something that the Rhoads community has been desperately calling out for. Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
Only time will tell. I don't know much about Kickstarter, but those who have backed it will want updates and if Kelle wants his work to be acknowledged, he will have to provide them. He has a real opportunity here, to do something very very special.
There is a part of me that doesn't want them to do up Musonia. It currently remains the place that Randy Rhoads worked magic with his students and learnt his trade. You start slapping fresh paint over the walls and it loses that magic. That said, I simply don't know what the condition of the building is. If it's falling down or perhaps into disrepair, then the work might be necessary as opposed to a vanity thing.
