Re: chicago footage
Well if my way of thinking is correct, the footage would of been shot on super8 film which had a time limit of only a few minutes per reel. So whoever was filming the gig had to reload the camera every time the film ran out. So the latter part of the song would be missing. That's if the cameraman had enough film to shoot every song ??.randy will never die wrote:ive been studying the chicago footage and found something verry instristing the 2 and 3 mintue videos are cut like crazy train has 2 mins of video this was cut half way through the song and then posted on the internet

i gotta say i think atleast suicide solution was taped as on some of the video bootlegs you hear a note randy struck not long before playing it, also i believe it was shot to tape for the reasons that are you can tell on old tape based cameras betacam or sumet looks distinctive blurs, lack of film grain and flickers, plus camcorders (tape ones) where out for about two and a half years at the time so some one purchased one and also it would explain the dropouts on every bootleg looking like when tape fucks up because they react to been left or rewound to much on parts of the footage, one more thought is if the tape were to pop up now with more footage it would no doubt be very bad condition even if cleaned up, alot of tape footage from around that time unless stored in a vault it will rott very badly and just be static.
all i can think since trying to become d.a pennebaker for the last year and half.

Re: chicago footage
Years ago heard that the guys who filmed this intentionally made the parts we have look bad so that no one would have the quality copy they have... of course that's just a story from the early .tk days.
Re: chicago footage
Paul I recall reading that same story. Would be nice to get the complete first generation sometime, but as always I'm thankful for what we have. Just think, of all the shows to have bootlegged, we get the one with the iconic Tribute photo!
