I 100% agree that everyone deals with this sort of thing their own way. I lost my mom last year and I do visit her grave often but that is just the way I deal with it. If someone decides they don't want to visit their friends or family members grave but instead decides to remember them in other ways then they have that right. It's their own personal journey and they should never be judged because their road to peace is different someone else's.
If Ozzy feels like not visiting Randy's grave is unfinished business then maybe it's something he should do. If he does not feel the need to visit the grave because he has found his own way of giving tribute to his friend then there is no need to visit. Again this is HIS personal journey and nobody eles's.

Re: Zakk Wylde attends Randy's 30th anniversary memorial
I have to agree with this ^. My mum died back in 2009 and I have not been to her grave since the day she was buried, I adored that woman infinitely (even cared for her in her home as she died- I'm the one that found her!) she knows how I felt and still feel about her, but there's really nothing there for me.
Everyone deals with grief differently, and even though I think there is a lot more to the story than we'll ever know, I cannot dispute that how Ozzy handles his grief is his business, I refuse to speculate further about his possible motives. I was disgusted when I heard about the supposed altercation with Randy and him a couple weeks before Randy died, and to take that one step futher- imagine your best friend starts screwing the both of your boss (that'd be Sharon) and everyone lives in a shoebox on wheels- yeah, there had to be a lot of tension at times and perhaps even betrayal, but for several years proceeding that, it sounds like Randy and Ozzy grew a genuine bond together. And none of us are angels, either- I'm sure we all have our regrets in this life, but I do believe that Ozzy IS remorseful and probably even feels a tremendous amount of guilt for the accident and Randy's death.
One day we'll all pass on as well, and perhaps even find Randy to ask him ourselves what he thinks, but I think that Randy understands why Ozzy hasn't been there yet- or maybe he has? Who knows, but I cannot fault him either way.

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal. John Lennon

I agree, the person concerned was quiet hard nosed and very political and never backed away from a verbal exchange. When he said this I found it sweet king and full of love. I think I subscibe to to his opinion now too.Paul Wolfe wrote:Trigger wrote:He said he would rather think about her with his family because they are the ones who loved her.
That describes my feeling perfectly.
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

With all due respect for others on this emotional discussion, people handle death very differently from each other. The specific resting place of Randy is not who Randy was, it wasnt part of Randy's life whatsoever. It just happens to be where others built a memorial for him. Ozzy has grived in many ways over many years, and should only come to Randy's memorial if he needs to himself...not just to please others. Then again, maybe Sharon can figure out a profitable contract for the event.
