Ridge Farm Studio 1980 Print Ad

Post by shred1 »

Not sure where to post this, but....

Found this old print ad for Ridge Farm Studios, circa summer 1980.
Having said that, one can assume that the console pictured was most likely the one used to capture those classics.

cheers

What makes that image interesting to me is that I have read that Randy did his overdubs from the control room.
That would be the room!

Thanks for sharing, very cool. Randy had a stack upstairs and one in the basement (on the cement stairs) with a close and distant mic. After the basic rhythm tracks were done, Max recorded his solos and overdubs on the downstairs mics but randy played in the room with the upstairs stack and it gave him the response he needed to achieve "the sound". I can't say all the overdubs were recorded in the upstairs room but I would bet the leads were. I have seen other photo's of Randy in a control room but they all turned out to be the QR days (strat).
