THIRTY YEARS AFTER THE BLIZZARD on UK tv - 9.40pm 22nd July

Post by TTKFLYINGV »

Yo All,

Just a quick heads up to inform those in the UK that the BBC are showing the Thirty Years after the Blizzard documentary on Friday 22nd July. Its 40 minutes long so its no doubt the version shown on US tv a few weeks back.

It will be broadcast on BBC4.

In addition, it will be followed by 'Lemmy' the documentary about Ozzy's mate from Motorhead and after that they are showing a documentary called Heavy Metal Britannia about the rise of heavy rock!

Three shows about rock in one night! Nice one BBC! :-)

Are you sure, it's showing Lemmy and then Hawkwind after the Proms on my tv guide? Not really arsed myself as I've seen it many times but it would be nice for the uninitiated to see it.

As for you Jazz, BBC4 is the most watchable channel on telly. Count yourself lucky you didn't suggest BBC3 as I would have had to have words!

GOD NO! Bbc 3 is worse then 4, its just 4 is constanly repeating the same stuff all decade, very draining if you watched it twelfe time round.

Isn't the majority of UK tv repeats if you don't like soaps or reality TV or Pop fuckin Idol or DIY Chefs in your home boiling an egg to win cash prizes WOOPfuckinWOOP. It's a waste of a TV licence absolute shite. But i'll be turning on for a night of Rock n Metal. I was surprised a few weeks ago a Live gig of Gary Moore was on from 1984. When are Motorhead & Hawkwind on ?

That just about sums up British tv, that's why I like BBC4 as it's the only channel that doesn't churn out that crap.
On my programme guide it's showing the Lemmy movie, then a Hawkwind doc followed by Heavy Metal Britannia starting at 21.40 this Friday. It makes sense that the Blizzard doc will be shown as it's usual for shows to start at 21.00.

@ Bongochrist

Very odd, my telly's programme guide now also shows no Blizzard documentary.

My original source was from a TV guide magazine (see attached scan).

Maybe Sharon asked the Beeb to pull it from broadcast!

Due to a change in programme...Bloody typical we ended up with an hour of Hawkwind. It will be interesting to see if this is going to be on at a later date..
