I just can't (for the life of me) figure out why Rudy did those bizarre stage moves over and over and over again. It's like he's stuck on "repeat."

Fair enough, you don't like Rudy Sarzo. Like he had some say as to where the cameraman shot the footage from.

I have never heard ANYONE mention the bass playing on Tribute or Speak Of The Devil as being the weak link in the mix. Ever. Except here.

As far as that greasy UK hippy vibe that Daisley and Lee brought - (beard, track suit and beer gut).... take a look at what Rhoads wore in his QR days... eyeliner, polka dot vests and an oversized bow-tie. Kinda.... fluffy'n cute. Glam perhaps?

Delores Rhoads thought the BOO band looked like roadies. Even in 1980, they looked kinda dated and lumpy.

Ozzy assembled the Blizzard shortly after his last tour with Sabbath, in which a young, flashy LA band called Van Halen buried them on stage every night.

Once he realized his first album had traction, adjustments were made.

Rock'n' roll IS show business after all.

I'm right there with you Chillinvilin...

Rudy has really ruined almost ALL of the footage of Randy. And I'm sure if more footage resurfaces, it will be heavily focused on...you got it...RUDY. That idiot made people focus on him because he was completely retarded looking on stage.

The soundcheck footage of Randy is about the only place we don't see Rudy acting really creepy and weird.

As for Bob and Lee looking like roadies - yeah, that's actually pretty sweet. I admire modern bands like the Killers who are able to break thru on a certain image, and then flush it down the toilet because they are all about the music. The drummer of the Killers looks like a young Lee Kerslake now (fat, beard, ect), and the Killers are STILL playing huge festivals. A younger, prettier, drummer would probably result in them losing their fans.

That was the whole problem with the 80's. I'm the first to admit I love glam rock, but it really didn't stand the test of time. Bands like Judas Priest, Motorhead, ect did.

EVEN LOOK AT OZZY TODAY - he's trying to fit in with bands like Avenged Sevenfold. That's so dumb. He's a 65 year old man wearing eyeliner.

If he would have stuck with jeans and a dirty t-shirt, he'd have more credibility with most music fans who like Springsteen , Petty, ect.

The Rudy Bobble Head doll was hysterical dude...

On a side note, I almost called Rudy "Rusty" this morning. I think I'll call him that from now on "Rusty Sarzo."

Ozzy was wearing eyeliner when A7X was still shiting green!!! It's not like he just started wearing it last tour.

I know. But just cause Ozzy's been wearing eyeliner for years doesn't mean he should still be wearing it.

Take a 21 year old chick in a mini-skirt. Do you wanna see her at age 65 in a mini skirt if she's got verocose vains and cellulite?? No.

"age appropriate" needs to be considered by some artists.

Ozzy is great, but really, Sharon needs to stop trying to "update" his look. Leave him lying face down in the gutter for a few weeks and them throw him on stage. THAT'S the Ozzy that everybody WANTS.

I dunno, I like Rudy's take on OTM. His basslines are pretty groovin. Actually, I like his bass tone as well. It cuts well, isn't tinny and has balls. It stood out to me on the DIO "Holy Diver Live" DVD as well. Since I'm the only guitar player in my band, I wish my bassist would get that tone.

I don't think there is anything wrong with his stage moves either. When you are in a band, you need to be animated onstage, even if you think you are acting silly. People don't want to see guys standing still onstage.

Did you notice how bad the PDV was going out of tune near the end of Crowley? Yikes! I like stuff like that though, it adds a human element to the performance. Things are so clean and perfect these days....

There is a difference between being "animated" on stage, and "looking stupid" on stage.

Randy looked animated on stage, Rudy looked stupid.

I really can't think of another 80's guy who did what Rudy did. Most guys just head-banged and ran around. As long as every few minutes they were doing something different, it was cool.

The guy was instructed to not leave a little square on the stage.
