thank you Rudy (off the rails)

Post by blues_n_cues »

i just finished the book 3 times in a row. 1st off, corpus christi (diary tour)was my first concert and w/ all the sensory input of the whole event i totally forgot about pete way & phil mogg (ufo) fighting & knocking over the amps-that was hilarious & i don't think anyone got what was going on.that was & still is 1 of the best concerts i've ever been to even though Ozzy was quite off that night.

thanx to this site too. i've been doing bluesy rock & southern thing the last couple years & getting bored w/ it. getting back to randy & that style is like going back to my roots-even though that sounds backwards...

anyway thanx.

Awsome man,I just recently got the Collectors edition. The Original one I got in 07 was just Writing w/a couple pages of B & W Photos, and LOTS of Type-O's.But Ive read it so many times that it is in like 4-5 pieces from the combination of cheap binding & excessive wear from reading it.But as I said a couple weeks ago,the Layout on the New edition is Really Top Notch. It has alot of Funny/touching quotes printed on the pages that I could see as Bait to make the customer buy it.like"Ozzy took a big Snort of Cocaine then his eyes rolled like a slot machine,he holds up his bottle screams Rock & Roll & stumbles out of the room" Stuff like that to seem like the book has a bunch of dirt. But it doesnt,Rudy must have done halfway decent because now it also has like 20 HQ Ross Hafflin pics & looks very nice as opposed to tthe Low-Budget almost Bootleg type layout of the Original.

I just finished the book for the second time also and I am glad Rudy kept a journal of his times with Oz and Randy. Its amazing now that I think about it that Randy stayed with Ozzy-I mean who wants to be around a drunken drug addict 24hrs a day who's always throwing fits and wants to cancel about every other show. I don't care how good the money and fame was THAT had to get old. And I like to party but not like Ozzy did..Now If Randy's old girlfriend Jodi would write a book I beleive that would be a good read and maybe see a different side to RR than we all know.
