Neil Zlozower charges the exact same price for his too, or $800 for 16 X 20:

http://www.zloz.com/rock-and-roll-print ... rhoads.htm

This is fairly common among professional photographers. And it's the same price for any other photo, not just Randy's, so they're not cashing in on his death. It's similar to how an artist creates a set number of prints of an original painting, and sells those for several hundred dollars, while the original painting is worth over $10K. These are processed prints being sold as art, so it's not really fair to compare them against a poster at Wal-mart or something similar.

1) He's (They're) not a professional photographer.

2) Anyone who say's "we," when speaking of themselves - isn't to be trusted.

3) Comparing a print from an original painting, to stretchhhhhhhh in trying to justify such nonsense?

Are you effing serious?

1) Perhaps he should've included the word "photographer" in his forum name to make himself more credible as a photographer??

2) I fail to say how the comparison is such a stretch... they're both copies of an original work being sold in a limited run, which they both earn their living or at least supplement their income by selling. Only difference is one's a copy of a painting, while the other is a copy of a photograph. Photography is displayed as art in museums, just as paintings are. Seems like a fair enough comparison to me. I would never spend this much on a print myself, but was just playing devil's advocate here.

3) Yes, I am effing serious. Or rather, I am effing serious.

When everyone has finished casting there reasons why not to buy these photographs. Just remember the guys who shot these photographs are fans as well. They came to the site... yes ok to sell there work and doesn't everyone else who has something connected to Randy i.e Rudy Sarzo with his book he was here and gone in a flash. Kelly Garni every time he has something in the can he's here to promote it.. I even heard he sold his collection of RR memorabilia after everthing that was done, so he could keep a hold of his prized possesions. Jay Banbury did the same and it's a free advert for them all. The best place to advertise, but just be prepared for some mud slinging. Even i've sold photos of Randy on ebay. So just remember before you let your mouths run riot. These guys didn't have to show there photos here. Like alot of photographers if you want to see the product cough the $$$$$$ then you'll see it.

I don't speak in the Third Person ("we", "our").

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5037&p=54196#p54196

People who do so are pretentious.

I also wouldn't charge anywhere remotely near $400, even for a fine-art quality 24x36 inch print, much less something vastly smaller.

The photos on that website (posted) are decent, but nothing incredible, at all.

No, it's TOO much. Nearly 30 years later. This needs to stop, it's part of that Randy circus that Delores hates. There are only a certain amount of real Randy fans that collect photos seriously as I have. They are few and far between. Most are the common man with a modest salary. I can see some the famous pro photographers that have shot many rock stars over the last 40 years offering a little more if they have quality work. Even he said these photos had to be touched up because the are not pro. It's once again taking advantage of Randy fans. I agree with RhoadsRockPhotographer, I have bought his photos at a fair price and very very satisfied and would buy many more. Thank you sir for sharing! I too have bought all the Banbury posters and 30 bucks each is quite worth again for what you get. Becasue they were 30 bucks each I could afford them all. Thank you Jay.

They are printed on Dodo-bird paper? Maybe the bootleggers will release a new show. I can justify a new show for $25 but a picture for $400? They (bootleggers) are better scum then those that hold on to it and keep it like a miser...
