Re: What Pickups did Randy use?????
That depends on the guitar. For his Les Paul, I've heard that he had T-Top pickups. Those are rare (And expensive) pickups. Not sure what comes close, but if Gibson starts selling the pickups they made for the RRLP, then you could get those.
His PDV had Dimarzio pickups. Super Distortion in the bridge, and a PAF (I think) in the neck. On his Concorde, he had Seymour Duncan pickups. Not 100% sure on the name of them, but I think they might be the Hotrod set.

Here's some more details about all of his main guitars.

Haha, no problem, Tito! Don't beat yourself up, it's not exactly common knowledge.

Re: What Pickups did Randy use?????
I just ordered a set of Seymour Duncan hot rodded humbuckers for my Epi Randy Tribute, A JB in bridge and JAZZ in neck

can't go wrong with JB's, although I'm not sure how they would sound in26bond wrote:I just ordered a set of Seymour Duncan hot rodded humbuckers for my Epi Randy Tribute, A JB in bridge and JAZZ in neck
a mahogany bodied LP style guitar.

Thanks everyone
Re: What Pickups did Randy use?????
They sound absolutely incredible. GIANT low end without being really muddy and good articulation. A JB in a big slab of mahogany is my favorite pickup in the world.Stiltzkin wrote:can't go wrong with JB's, although I'm not sure how they would sound in26bond wrote:I just ordered a set of Seymour Duncan hot rodded humbuckers for my Epi Randy Tribute, A JB in bridge and JAZZ in neck

I have a JB in the bridge position on my LP. It's the perfect marriage...Stiltzkin wrote:can't go wrong with JB's, although I'm not sure how they would sound in26bond wrote:I just ordered a set of Seymour Duncan hot rodded humbuckers for my Epi Randy Tribute, A JB in bridge and JAZZ in neck

JB's are a very versatile pick up and work with most wood....I have one in my musicman which is basswood/maple and it screamsThe One wrote:I have a JB in the bridge position on my LP. Re: What Pickups did Randy use?????
In an interview w/John Stiix he said "Ive got a 64 Cream Les Paul,& a 57 Black Les Paul w/three pickups,I have a (charvel) flying V that Carl Sndoval built for me.He used to work at Charvel & then went off on his own.The V has DiMarzio Distortion plus pickup in the Treble position & DiMarzio PAF in the Bass slot."
Now those are Randys words, but later weve come to learn that his LP is actually like a 74 or 75??
