Randy Magic, what I meant is it was just a handful of people and that this was done for. It wasn't announced or anything. And like you that was the last time I saw Randy alive was during that break.

I remember Frank telling me that he didn't have lessons with Randy after he left for Britain and that he met with Randy a few days before the 'Diary' tour when Randy Frank Jodi & Meradith spent an eveining together.
I asked Frank if he went to see Randy while he was with Ozzy and he said no and he didn't even listen to the 'Diary' album until much later (after Randy's passing) due to how emotional it might make him.

I did ask if he was at the QR reunion shows and he said he wasn't and I was left with the feeling that Frank didn't meet up with Randy between leaving for Britain and Christmas 81. I might be wrong but if so I am not contradicting anyone, I know he has the postcards and I know they remained in touch during Randy's time with Ozzy.

This is all I remember of our chats on the subject. :D

If my memory serves me well Randy was home in late Nov or early Dec in 1981. Not trying to start drama I just know the last time I saw him alive was in Burbank during that time. And I was told that Randy picked a handful of students to teach and meet up with while home.

Oh well no worries. I know Franks family well enough and I know for a fact he was indeed a close friend to Randy. Franks whole family is kickass and I was blessed to be in a band with his younger brother Jim.

This could be very well, because he was definitely around in Hollywood december '81:
Full stage rehearsals were conducted at Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope studios in Hollywood before everyone headed to San Francisco to begin the tour. Meanwhile, in his San Dimas factory, Jackson had the second guitar built and completed. He delivered it to Randy on December 27 during the final rehearsals at Zoetrope.

During those rehearsals ET/RockReport/2onTheTown filmed there too.

Glad to see the documentary nonsense die down though. I just pray they get it all worked out and deliver a solid product.

The dude with that polka dot white Jackson is a great story teller. I called him out on it and he suddenly blasted me and edited or deleted my replies. It was insane he claimed to be in the movie yet Peter never heard of the guy neither did Craig Turner or Joe Holmes. I never saw him at Musonia.

Yea and sorry for getting fired up about Randy's homecoming. Frank is a class act. I have many memories of Frank and his brother Bob and his younger brother my dear friend Jim who is an amazing bass player. I have yet to find another bass player that I have locked in and had that magical groove with.

Oh yea Frank took lessons from Randy at the house and paid for them with a pack of smokes or whatever. Funny stories from Frank that I can relate to.
