Well the white head according Marshall had the GT-6CA7 (big bottle EL34 tubes). I have them, they are waaaaay too expensive (one quad for 200 euro) and they sound too sterile for my taste. Not worth the money.
A better and cheaper substitute would be the Electro Harmonix 6CA7, Shuguang EL34B or the JJ E34L. (IMO)

Was wondering what tubes are in the 1959RR ?
JJ's ?????

ye jj something like pramps? maybe it was jjel34 or jjecc83 somthing like that.
Could be ECC83's for the preamp tubes. Not bad imo.
I remember in my first SLP there were Ruby EL34B power tubes. Pretty good tubes imo. (they are the same as the shuguang EL34B) I would expect that Marshall use them for the 1959RR as well. Not sure if they do.
If I was you I would try those shu's first.

i think marshall have some kind of business partnership with JJ, all marshalls these days come stock with JJ's unless im mistaken. :?

that would maybe explain why the 1959RR comes with JJ's

as far as tubes go i know little beyond the tonal characteristics of certain types. As far as brands go etc. im clueless.

Groove tubes are probably the most popular, i know zakk and john 5 use them.

If you go on some tube amp sites you could find info on what brands do good 6v6's and from what year etc.

My 1959RR came with Marshall Logo'd JJs

I've replaced V1 with a Groove Tubes GT-12AX7-R which really helped the tone a lot. I'm going to be outfitting it with a full set of Groove Tubes when I can afford to.

I read somewhere before that Randy wasn't particular about his tubes as far as brands or is it nos etc. I always thought he just kept it stock or used whatever was around.
