Yeah i can remember vaguely reading about QR being dressed in Christmas costumes riendeers antlers etc.. I gather that this was leading up to,or just after Christmas this gig... Cheers for clearing this one up Gary..What was wrote on the t-shirt belonging to Randy in that teenage pic with his Mom ? Can you remember ?Randy Magic wrote:Randy is actually wearing a Santa hat, not a beret.
In the pic with his mother he, was about 17 or 18y/o.
Thanks for bringing these back to life.

Gary

I have no personal knowledge but I seem to recall a neighborhood friend having a shirt like that around the 1975-76 period that had something to do with the American Bicentennial celebration. Very cool and I recall this picture jumping out at me because of that shirt a couple of years ago when I first saw it. Randy looks much younger though - like 16 at most. That would make it 1972-73.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:.What was wrote on the t-shirt belonging to Randy in that teenage pic with his Mom ? Can you remember ?
I'm confused now...
Edit: I'm still confused but I see now the shirt reads "Miss America". Looks like something from MAD magazine. I just bet he was a fan too.
Baking the cookies of discontent by the heat of the laundromat vent...
For some reason or another, the only picture that I didn't get to see was the one with his mom. Any way to re-post it?Randy Magic wrote:Randy is actually wearing a Santa hat, not a beret.

The picture of Delores and Randy, KILLS ME.
I am saddened for the loss of RR, and the life he would have had, should have had in later life. The gripping pain has NOT subsided in the many years since his passing. Even with the many fantastic shots of Randy seen in the last few years is amazing, but nothing compared to the simplistic essance of RR. Usually looking at killer RR pics dont make me sad. But that pic KILLS me. You cant help but feel the tremendous personal loss even still. He was just a kid !
I lost my grampa at the same time as Randy's death, and in a weird way these occurances have been connected almost together in my life/mind, as I was 12-13 at that time. The look of the old photos also reminds me of gramps. The 70's, awesome !
