So I was watching Randy's Quiet Riot spotlight solo and got to thinking about those things I've read about Randy's influences. So I watched Mick Ronson's solo spot and was struck by the visual similarities.
While I was writing this I thought about Bill Nelson and found a clip from Bebop Deluxe's Sunburst Finish album which I'd head was influential on Randy as well.
So, enjoy.

Wow!!
I remember reading something about this connection to Randy's image and playing but I never saw the video which showed it. I definitely see it now...

Randy may not have had a record player at home, but he must have had a television or he went to a lot of concerts. He seems to have learned a LOT from Mick Ronson, image-wise.siro_angel wrote:he moves like randy and looks simular to randy..

Re: A Randy influence
Not only image wise, Mick Ronson was a 'noisey' guitarplayer and Randy liked that. (Kelly Garni once said) I hear a lot of Randy there, Mick Ronson was for sure a genius too! The things he did there with his echo (keep in mind this was in the early seventies) is amazing!RockyRhoads wrote:He seems to have learned a LOT from Mick Ronson, image-wise.

If I wouldn't know better....... Great stuff there!
