For me it's gotta be Ozzy. That's classic Black Sabbath full stop. Although I love Dio's voice, it's not THE Black Sabbath.

Ozzy is the best for Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio was the best when he was solo but his work in Black Sabbath is still killer after all of these years...

I heard Children of the Sea yesterday and it still blows me away... I love every single song on Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules, I don't think I can say that about any other Sabbath record...

I think that the songs that Dio wrote with Sabb are all good but what hurts my ears are when he sings the Sabb classics, They sound like an opera singer busking!!! although I do understand he had to put his own spin on those classic tunes.

It'd be hard for a metal vocalist as talented and experienced as Halford to shame himself on Sabbath songs... I'm sure Priest covered one or two in the early days...

Hey Rocky,

You watched Judas Priest on video lastnight and had an air guitar session with the kids, was it this post that (you made yeaterday) that gave you the idea to watch them by an chance?

Ozzy of course. When Dio joined, it was a completely different sounding band. The Ozzy sound was what I liked the most. What he did with his vocal melodies over Tony's guitar work was something incredible and something he couldn't ever really do again. Wheels of Confusion? Meglomania? Awesome stuff.
Not to say I hate Dio or anything, cause I don't. I just don't like how he really sounds with Iommi and Co.
