Lumberjack

Ok, this may have been addressed at one point or another, but I'm going to ask anyway. When and why did Zakk decide to go with the "Lumberjack" look? Every time I see him, the "Lumberjack Song" from Monty Python comes crashing into my head, and I start cracking up.
Is it personal preference, or just pure negligence on personal appearance and not giving a good shit about how he looks?

I would guess it started a bit when his record company told him to look more like Fred Durst, or atleast around that same time. It's a statement, that all that matters, is the music.
This is late 2000.
This is mid 2001.

This is how he has his beard now, by the way. The braids makes it a lot more clean looking.

Hilarious Gina but I couldn't agree more..guess I just like the
"pretty boy look" too much..ha..he needs to at least shave the beard
or trim it into a goatee & for god's sake,take a bath once in a while-
he looks so unkept & dirty..just my opinion.I have nothing against
Zakk but appearance is important.

I remember Sharon giving Zakk crap about his beard in an episode of the Osbournes. Personally his looks don't make a difference one way or the other, if he's happy than it's all good. It's funny looking back at his baby face with the dimple on his chin when he first joined Ozzy, with his poofed out hair....now he's a two fisted rock n roll animal lol!!

The beard thing is a trend, nothing more. A lot of "rock stars" went to the beard look a number of years back, as did wrestlers and actors (offscreen).
Remember when the "Seattle Scene" was happening and everyone started sporting goatees and wearing flannel? Then it became the "in" thing to shave your head bald...
Unfortunately, just because it's a trend doesn't mean it looks good!
