Some people have been ripping into Jake E Lee saying that he has no talent because he doesnt show any techniques such as Whammy Bar trickery and artifical harmonics and tapping (read the YouTube video comments on the Ultimate Sin guitar solo) and then they go on to say that Eddie Van Halen is god cos he does all these they say is technique...

excuse me but...

A) Eddie Van Halen is just a show off of "techniques" showing what you can do when you are bored,

B) Jake E Lee shows that you dont need a whammy bar to do dive bombs, Dime harmonics (you know the harmonics dimebag created? Jake E Lee created em prior to Dime) and shows that you even can make a chord out of nothing but harmonics prior to eddie van halen and prior to fucking steve vai!

I kinda see where you come from, and yes, Jake
is more of a purist (the tone and the technique).

However, Dimes harmonics (and Vais) are from Eddie
... only a little further developed
