Zeus 840 off of Ebay

QUICK_EDIT
Note from Jody Kephart: Sorry to all about all about the Zeus 840. I took it off ebay and off the market. It was memobelia
that I had for 27 years. Kelly Rhoads said they weren't interested in getting Randy's lost gear. I just thought that whenever some memobelia like Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix's goes to auction at Christies or Soethebys it's ok and it's in the USA Today and everyone is glad to see it. So naturally I felt getting a piece of history like this on display for people to enjoy would be a good thing. I only had a reserve of 10,000 on it so it wasn't like I was out to gouge the world. Again sorry to all at UR. JK

Will you be helping with all efforts to authenticate the ownership of the amp?
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

I can understand, with the economy the way it is, wanting to sell something of value to help ends meet. My problem with this whole thing is that this item came up on eBay out of the blue. For someone who is a 'big Rhoads fan' who never had made mention of this item before. Almost everything else that has come to light has had rumors about it before we saw it. How could someone be a 'big fan' and never mention this in any circles that would get the rumor spinning a little?

In addition, a year or more ago there was a long thread about this item at .tk with detailed descriptions of everything. Reading that thread and investing a little money (the thread came about because a Zeus amp was on eBay), a duplicate setup could be made. Was that the case here? I don't know, but with the background I just described, it made me doubtful.

As for the $10,000 reserve, the seller said the reserve was reasonable and he didn't want to 'gouge' anyone. Well, in this economy, $10,000 for a questionable item like this is gouging. Maybe he needs $10,000 to pay hospital bills? Whatever the case, he was less than honest with his auction page.

Hopefully, Jody Kephart, you will contact the Rhoads family and work something out - provided this thing is real.

I read with an amount of disappointment that this item has been sold without learning if it’s legitimate or not by a member at TK.
I feel that this has aided hiked prices for RR items and only profits those who have no real claim to the item concerned, also even though it returns to Randy’s nearest and dearest (as seems to be the plan) I imagine it will be locked away perhaps never to be seen again.
The whole sorry saga leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth because of the way this has been handled from the first day it was brought to our attention, also I have to agree with Paul that such sums seem obscene at the present time.

Just a picky little detail: the model number of the mini amp keeps getting posted here as the '840'. it was of course the '8401'. did some of my silkscreened art get rubbed off over the years? - Cyranobob
Sometimes I'm glad just to be standing here.
