Looking back at
2013, What kind of gear have you bught, sold, traded away?
I must admit, I haven't bought anything new

unless you count my Flying V

but to be honest, I got that in really late december 2012, so I'm not sure that would count?
anyhoo, in 2013, I've gone through an assortment of guitar pickups, settling on EMGs

but now, I'm gonna go for something with less output and since I got the bridge version cheap(used),
I've decided to go with the
Lundgren Vintage Neck as well
You can hear the
Bridge here and the
Neck here
The last piece of the puzzle would be a new pickguard
...oh, and for 2014, I'm really thinking about another guitar build, but I'll save that for another thread
what's your gear story?

I had quite a good year when it comes to new gear ( I don't usually buy much as a rule)
guitars.......
2009 charvel san dimas (seasick green)
tele made from all parts body, dr parts neck
cheapie les paul that is actually pretty cool
Amp/cabs.....
jet city jca 22h
2 x marshall 1912 cabs
2 x celestion g12 85s
1 empty 4 x 10 cab (that I converted to oversized 2 x 12)
getting all these turned out great because I now run a wet/dry rig and it kicks all sorts of ass
pedals......
bad horsie wah
marshall jackhammer (modded)
marshall regenerator
and a new recording interface that I can't remember off hand the brand

Hmm lets see. I bought 2 Jackson RR1's. One with a floyd and one with a standard string through the body build. I sold my GMW Polka Dot V and my Shecter Hellraiser. I just never played either of them. The GMW had a vintage trem and it just would not stay in tune if you used the bridge. So after 10 years of enjoyment it was time for it to go. I literally had not played it in about 3 years.
For 2014 I plan on ordering my custom shop jackson. It will take a min of 2 years to build. So I wont get it until 2016 or later.

I put the Slash set in my RR1 and they sound so good. I really like the slash set over just the regular set though, those are good too. That neck pick up in the slash set is butter. Just has that right sound.

Would the slash neck pickup go good with a invader in the bridge
The invader is a vary hot pickup
I am looking for a pickup that makes a good match with the invader
I want the bridge to sound heavy and I want a chimy vintage neck
Together I want them to Balance each other
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS ?

Yes that would work great together. I would put that neck pick up in with just about any humbucking bridge set. I can't think of a time that the neck would not work out great.

I'd say the only neck pickup that would go with an Invader would be another Invader...maybe the neck version?

NICE TRY
But the neck was still too hot for my taste
I like my neck pickups to sound really light and my bridges to sound really hot
I currently have a gibson 57 classic in the neck of my esp F-50 candy apple red but it's not light enought
I want the neck to sound close to a Telly but I still want that humbucking sound
I think I will look at a P90
If I can't find anything I will look and see if I can get a custom pickup made from the people at seymour duncan. Their custom pickups are fairly cheap and the people at custom services are extremely nice
If I REMBER right the seymour Duncan motto is IF YOU CAN DREAM IT WE CAN BUILD IT

well, yeah, but you'll have balance which is very VERY hard to acquire with what you just described.

you will NEVER get a tele-sound through a P90.
Remember, a P90 is really nothing more than a fat singlecoil with no humcancelling

correction...if you can pay it we will build it

it's the same for everything custom really
