Custom Marshall anp/boutique amp

I had a co-worker take my Marshall transistor Lead 20 (It took 2 1/2 years to get it back) and make a point-to-point-wiring tube amplifier which is based on an early version. I also will be selling the transistor board of the Marshall Lead 20. Originally, he said it would cost $100 in parts and I said, you wire it. The guy showed up and he said, $270 (I paid $100 2 1/2 years years ago and $170 was the balance. So, it cost $270 minus my chassis and speaker. Did I get ripped off? Comments...

I just realized that was way off topic but the amp is similar to Randy's Fender Harvard? Can anyone recommend where this topic belongs? Sorry folks!
