The wife was happy to see me finish physical therapy and found this at a pawn shop for me:
This is not the most expensive guitar, but it is excellent in quality
and sound. The only difficulty I'm having with it is that there are no position markers on the neck. I didn't realize how much I relied on them! It's cool to work on learning positions by feel and by ear.

Not a cheap guitar either, I don't know how much your wife paid but most uk prices were around £600-£700

Interesting... she paid $400 which would be about £192, I believe.

It looks just great the reviews on harmony central were great too. Grover tuners too right and Duncan Designed pick ups!
You have come by a cool axe

Did you cry when you found out it had no position markers on the neck?

would that hinder playing it?

only until you get used to not having them... which shouldnt take too long
i think its good not having markers, it encourages you to learn the fretboard by feel and sound rather than sight

Now that I'm used to not looking at the "dots" on the neck I prefer this guitar over any I've ever played. I think I'd go with no fretboard inlays on any guitar I buy from now on.
And having discovered the coil tap I have the best of all worlds tone-wise!

I tried out a lot of them and just don't like the feel of them... I was going for that single coil "country" sound and this Schecter does nicely with the coil tap.

I have started to play Gibson m3 lately. It is a lot like your guitar Paul as it has switching capabilities.
Here is a link to a picture of an M3 and if you scroll down you can see a diagram which explains the tones
