Jake E Lee OD-1 Clone.....
Quick question for you guitar playing members: Would any of you guys be interested in a limited edition clone of the OD-1 that Jake plyed back in the Ozzy and Badlands days? Would anyone be interested if we got a stamp of approval as to it's sonic authenticity from the man himself?
I'm thinking about producing some if theres enough interest.
What do you guys think?

Not at the moment. I'm trying to gauge interest and then do a cost analysis. I want to keep it reasonable.cableguyxx wrote:Any idea on a ball park price?

Yes...A big difference. The main difference, besides the tone circuit, is that the MXR Dist + only uses 1 opamp (or 1/2 of a dual opamp). Whereas the OD-1 uses both halves of a dual opamp. The result of which results in a smoother distortion with better sustain.
It's a personal preference thing really, because the Dist+ can do a pretty cool overdrive when the Volume is set high and the Drive is set low....Hence the name Dist+, more than a distortion, not quite a dedicated overdrive.
I personally prefer the Dist +. over Tubescreamers and Boss OD's.
Our Mutha Fuzz (not really a fuzz) Distortion pedal is based on the late 70's MXR Dist+. ....It does great 70's hard rock and classic metal.

Cool!
I've had enough interest from members on both forums (UR and JEL) to jusify looking into producing a limited run of about 20-25 pedals.

Okay, Matt.
BTW, I have a list of everybody who's showed interest. And of course, all the forum members will have first crack at 'em.
I'll keep this thread updated.
Thanks,
Dean
