Pickup Advice

Post by dougalhaven »

Hi everyone,

I bought an unfinished Warmouth Strat style guitar and it plays great, but I need to install some pickups. It's been about 20 years since I picked up a guitar, so I don't know squat any more (not that I ever did).

The guitar has cutouts for a humbucker at the bridge and neck positions with a single in the middle. Any suggestions on how to "fill the holes" lol.

I used to have a Fender (1979 Anniversary) and I used active pickups in that. I set it up with an ESP pre-amp and I don't even see those any more. The ESP gave me a toggle that I could use for effect and I really liked having that option.

If anyone wants to write me direct my email is: wonderheart5@gmail.com

thanks,

david

I think about the only supplier I can think of (Not that this is the only supplier) is EMG. They make active electronics and they have boost switches and such.
