Re: Don Airey responded to my inquiry!
I just would ask Don to post the last photos he took of Randy, especially the ones where Randy posed by the plane or was sitting on the wing.

Re: If anyone missed it...
That's probably the most awesome thing posted on this forum in the last couple years since the day on the green snippet.

Re: What if Randy hit the scene before Eddie?
He was for sure the best of all rock guitarists in that element. Most rock/metal bands have two guitarists a rhythm and a lead. Like Judas Priest, GNR etc. But Randy made it all seem so seamless. Like Crazy Train with all the licks interweaved with the rhythm parts, it really creates the illusion of...

Re: What if Randy hit the scene before Eddie?
I would have loved to have seen Randy live to release a totally instrumental album, like Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore, Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, and Jason Becker have all done. I often wonder if that's something he would have wanted to do. Or, if he would have just rem...

Re: What if Randy hit the scene before Eddie?
I agree with you on all points Paul. Randys/Ozzy most groove/pop rock song was Crazy Train. That song was catchy and upbeat enough to have mass appeal. But with that said, I'm glad Randy never got Mass appeal, I mean I don't care too much for pop bands. I mean I love Poison and CC Deville and they w...

Re: What if Randy hit the scene before Eddie?
I think the Van Halen David Lee Roth era of records had a much more commercial/pop sound that appealed to a much, much wider audience than Ozzys music appeals to... So I don't think it matters who was first, either way, VH would have always had more mass appeal. Randy and EVH comparisons are really ...

Re: Fuel for the fire?
I think it's just this sight that's taken a nose dive, not all message boards. Even in its heyday these boards were neve busy either here or at Tk. Other places boards i visit daily still have hundreds or thousands of post everyday. Not just this site, trust me. I don't know... I've been watching t...

Re: Fuel for the fire?
Facebook has absolutely killed message boards. Not just guitarists either.... all forums have taken a huge body blow. This one has suffered in particular, partly due to the inactivity of the Rhoads name. How can you keep expecting people to turn up and post about Randy when there's nothing to say? ...

Re: I made this video for Randy Rhoads today as a way of say
Nice job..Cool Axe too.. Thanks! It's a BC Rich Mockingbird from 2010 that they don't make anymore. It's neck thru with a mahogany neck and mahogany body, with a 1/4" maple top on the body. 24 5/8" scale length so it's easy to reach the notes. Hardtail so no whammy bar to mess with tuning...

Thanks, yes that's recorded direct from the fractal preamp.

Re: I made this video for Randy Rhoads today as a way of say
Thanks Tito! The tone is from the Fractal Axe FX XL plus preamp, effects processor, I just got it last week. This is the first recording I've made with it so far, and that's one of the first presets I've made so far. I am still learning how to shape the tones etc, so I expect the tone to improve more...
