Re: Van Halen admits to listening to Crazy train
They can only work together, because no one wants to work with Eddie and no one can tolerate Roth....Common in Rock n Roll..Aerosmith, the Stones, etc..

Van Halen admits to listening to Crazy train
So there it is...EVH did track Randy as we all heard about in the 70's during they bar scene (i.e..that EVH and DLR use to attend their shows)...at least that is how I take his comment on "Crazy train" http://www.vhnd.com/2015/06/19/eddie-van-halen-surviving-addiction-making-music-thinks-d...

Re: Randys amps.
Here's a curious thought. Say Randy had lived for "Speak of the Devil" but passed away at the beginning of 83. I wonder how that would have changed things as far as his legacy and the desire to locate unseen footage or unheard audio? My personal take is it would have cemented him more as ...

Re: Randys amps.
That was such a great video clip (Texas sound check), from Randy adjusting the amps heads to his rolling scales and artificial harmonics..If it were today, you know we'd have a bunch of clips, not only from sounds checks, but like from the dressing room's practice amps, etc...One can only dream! Se...

Re: Do you have the trailer to "The Last Train Home"?
The footage at the end where Randy is playing his polka dot flying v. Was that new at the time the trailer was leaked? I recognize it from possibly being from one of the news clips but I can't recall such great footage aside from the Over the Mountain solo. Good question, I don't recall seeing that...

Re: Diary of a Madman guitar intro
Randy goes through the structure on the seminar recordings it sounds great...explaining the chords and scale etc. Shows you what a true musician he really was...Great Lesson...No way Ozzy could have pulled that song off live in those days (without the teleprompter)..just think how many times in Ove...

Re: Diary of a Madman guitar intro
My take, it was Ozzy's doing after overhearing the guitar lesson..But if you play, and you can play DOAM, there are so many other parts to the song that make it special..Definitely once of my favorites to jam too!

Re: How Randy plays Paranoid and COTG in 82
Great post...When you have a bad day at work, sometimes you just don't want to talk about it, hence why Randy was apparently pretty quiet during his time off from the first leg of the 82 tour....we know he wasn't super excited to go back on the road, that's for sure. Anyone of us who has ever gigged...
