Re: The Movie/Favorite Movies Thread
Did you see it in IMAX? I did and didn't notice that. I did not. 2K digital projection in a standard size cinema. Parts of the film were shot with 65mm, those were the parts where I noticed softer focus. To be fair my friend didn't notice anything. Maybe I'm just becoming too discerning these days....

Re: Moore on Aurora.
Another quote from SIG. This one made me laugh The SSG 3000 Tactical rifle is the ultimate high-performance long range rifle, ideal for situations where your first shot may be your only shot. I'm not sure if they are implying a situation where you are hunting animals or firing at people. I'm not sur...

Re: Moore on Aurora.
Did anyone hear about the guy who ordered a TV from Amazon and got an assault rifle instead? http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/08/tv-amazon-assault-rifle The weapon in question is a SIG716 rifle; http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/sig716-patrol-rifle.aspx Notice that it is a semi auto...

Re: The Movie/Favorite Movies Thread
I really loved how The Dark Knight Rises wrapped up the trilogy, and picked up on little themes planted in the first film. I enjoyed it tremendously, but looking back, have to admit the film has quite a lot of flaws. If it wasn't part of a trilogy my opinion would not have been so high. Also, talkin...

Re: Pictures of Us
 I do wonder where he found that one. But as I recall, it was just a tiny one. Elusive is probably the only sensible thing, but it's not easy to stick to it with Facebook and whatnot anymore. The Xperia Arc is courtesy of the job, by the way. Very happy with it. 8) Cheers Rob! Facebook... what...

Re: Cybernetic Hate Crime
Haha, I'd wink back   Sorry for such a late reply, but I lost my internet for a while. I know what you mean, I think my main concern is that once you stick a camera in someone eye there is always the potential for it to record images, likewise a hearing aid could tape conversations. Whe...

Re: Pictures of Us
Figured that some people had not seen me. I look younger than I am (27). Has anyone seen you :P You've always been very elusive, probably the sensible thing. The only picture I remember of you was the one SB stole for his "book". Looking good nonetheless! Rob p.s Sony Ericsson!? Think I h...

Re: Moore on Aurora.
This needs to be fleshed out. This is about the dumbest argument I constantly hear. Having 100 round magazine is not an issue. In case people don't know the gun jammed and he did most the killing with a shot gun. The other thing is that even if he killed them all with this AR-15 and say there was a...

Re: Cybernetic Hate Crime
I guess the question for me is what future technology may include. If someone had an eye replaced with a camera type device, what's to stop that camera taking and saving pictures or video? And where does the line for privacy get drawn? Can you stop someone from recording their memories through their...

That's actually a damn good point.distortionplus wrote:No one ever seems to bring up that probably Sharon wrestled to control the band and make Ozzy more like a solo artist because that way he could not get fired again.

Cybernetic Hate Crime
A man using a cybernetic device was assaulted in a McDonald's in France. It's a little unclear what the device is for, but presumably it is intended as a replacement for an eye. The article almost reads like something out of a film or a video game. Raises all kinds of questions about the future of s...
Re: Sharon
Personally I have no doubt that without Sharon, Ozzy would not have done anything - period. He would have probably died or spent the last 30 years trying to tie his shoelace. If she abandoned him at any point during his career I'm sure it would stall. That's a lot of good music I'm glad to have. Not...

Re: If not Jake E Lee....
3. Michael Schenker-I know the Osbourne camp approached him after 3/19/82 and nothing materialized. But Schenker's neoclassical runs and presence would have worked really well in that context. Schenker is an obvious choice in many ways. A kick ass player, one of the best riff men after Blackmore, P...
