Re: Grail Tapes Q&A

Pretty quiet here lately because of facebook...and that's OK because it means that more and more know about Randy. Now, I'm an old dog of 51, dad, hubby, college-educated professional, musician, and an RR follower since 1980 so, what I'm about to say, I know what the f I'm talking about. Anyway, I ...

Re: Did any of you see Randy play live?

I was lucky enough to see Blizzard of Ozz and Randy play several times. 1st time was at the Capital Theater in Passaic(April 24, 1981). I was 5th row for that show & it was an eye & ear opener to say the least. It was also a lesson, being so close. 8 days later on May 2nd I was at the Pallad...

Thanks for the heads up, that was a cool interview. I was at the Ritz with a couple of friends when "Speak of the Devil" was recorded. Brad Gillis kicked ass, it was a great show.

Lol at forums being killed by social media. No way, not even remotely true IMO. All the forum sites I visit are still thriving with THOUSANDS of post per day. Harmony Central was my main forum for the last 15yrs but they completely messed up there site and the place is dead now because of that sole...

Re: palladium footage?

Sorry I haven't checked in for awhile. Wish I could tell you I saw cameras at the show, but I wasn't looking for them and I was quite stoned. Motorhead the opening act was feeding back horribly killing everyone's ears. Myself and a few friends, after a couple of tunes, escaped to the lobby to save o...

Re: 3/19/82-3/19/13 RIP Randy

Still a fond memory, 31 years later. I responded to a thread in the live section and thought that today, it gives you insight to a humble, but amazing talent gone way before his time. Went to a record store in Manhattan where Ozzy, Rudy & Randy were doing an album signing. It was right out of S...

Re: 3/19/82-3/19/13 RIP Randy

Great story leftyaxeman.. I wish I could have met Randy. Did he mention any classical pieces he enjoyed playing? He didn't mention what specific pieces he was working on, but did mention he was studying classical. I had mentioned I was working on Pachebel's Canon in D, Chaconne in F minor, & he...

I was 5th row for that Capital Theater show April 24, 1981, I would love to see that footage. I had seen Blizzard of Ozz several times, and the Capital show was the best.

Re: Phoenix Bros Footage

It's definitely the Palladium(5-2-81), I attended both shows that night. We had tickets for the 1st show. It kicked so much ass, we climbed the fire escape and greased the palm of a bouncer & got in for the second show, which also kicked major ass! How much of the Palladium set is in the 30th an...
