I agree with Matt, the death penalty manifests the epitome of an oxymoron. Besides that fact, in the U.S. (one of a handful of countries that still uses capital punishment) it has proven to be a punishment that only poor, uneducated and mainly minorities are eligible for. I did the same thing at the end of Shawshank Redemption! Stephen King does a great job of messing with the emotion center of one's psyche I guess. Coz he wrote both of these stories and they both got to me in some way..
