Very accurate portrait, I must say! I´ve drawn anything and everything for more than 25 years, but never Randy...somehow I´ve felt it too sacred or something, maybe I´ll give it a try some day.

Yes, you´re right about Strat and Blackmore and Roth, they´re both great players, I especially like Uli Roth a lot, now he´s a classical player! so is Blackmore, with his current efforts especially, thought his playing used to have more bluesy phrasing, I think.

Look in any window, Laughing gas, Afterglow [even if it is a Humble Pie cover!], my taste for favourites tend vary from time to time, but Randy remains one of my all time favourite guitarists!

I have momentual memory block...this is the same song as "West coast try-outs", right? I have a tab for the song somewhere, i try to dig it up if I can.

I also agree; "Randy Rhoads years" really caught my ear and I got into QR 1 & 2. after that, even if I had heard glimpses of those albums before...well they just didn´t sound like Ozzy stuff, so maybe it was because of that!

Maybe he thought it too bluesy sounding for his playing? Strat isn´t really ideal guitar for heavy sounding classical stuff, for what I think. Matter of taste really as you guys said before.

:lol: For me it was the whole package; music, looks, charm etc. He was also one of the first guitarists that I got into, it was so intense that it was almost scary thing to get so deeply into Randy´s grooves! It was somewhere in the 80´s and I haven´t recovered...from RandyÃ...
