the difference between Ed & Brian is that Ed's guitar wasn't built from scratch ... Brians was :!: The other difference between Brian's guitar and Ed's guitar is that Ed's revolutionized the industry, Brian's did not... your point being ? I was just pointing it out... you seem pretty high on Br...

EVH was influential simply because he was a flashy player, and had a distinct style that people liked, and Randy mastered. The MOST influential in 25 years - maybe to teenybopper guitarists, and other newer players. I think seasoned guitarists would say otherwise. And, those influenced by EVH - whe...

I knew someone would get upset about the comparison between Randy and Rick Nielsen... Randy fans are so easily offended, especially when comparisons are made. For the record, I do not subscribe to the "Randy is God" school of thought. He was great and unique in many ways. Rick Nielsen is a...

It has been reported for years that the direction Quiet Riot took musically - especially at the time the first two records were recorded - was dictated by QR's management. They thought the glam/pop route was the best avenue for Quiet Riot and, since they were paying the bills, the boys did as they w...

Little Dolls ./.. thank you... I think it's great that he was just blowing out notes to fill the sapce, yet it sounds good. Sometimes I think it would have been cool to hear Randy be more spontaneous and just let loose... but I suppose his personality was more of the structured perfectionist type. ...

Always thinking that if Michael had left us in '82 I would probably be joining a Michael board now! I emailed him a few nights ago, a "thanks for the music" email, didn't think much of it afterwards. I was just up late and wanted to say thanks while listening to MSG ... the next day I rec...

Evryone should read this interview with Michael Schenker - guitarists and non-guitarists alike. Those of you who live with your parents should print it out and have them read it. Michael Schenker is a decent role model, a great guitar player and a blessed human being. http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hard-ro...

I haven't listened to Diary in ages, was it Little Dolls or Tonight that has the "scratch" solo? The one he blew out just to complete the song and intended to replace later? Randy composed his solos, so it is refreshing to hear one just off the top of his head. I'd love to hear the outtake...

You sure are adamant about getting me to say Jake's guitar was a "signature" guitar... I feel that Jake's guitar is simply a super strat, not uncommon, not special... that's my opinion. If you want to think it's special, feel free. Again, my definition of 'signature' is that for one reason...
