Re: Jake E Lee talks about Randy.

Probably gonna hear about this, but I think George was a better player than Randy. I feel that Randy is better as a musician with his knowledge, however I do feel George was a better player with better feel (for me personally at least). Same thing with Jake, but obviously something wasn't working be...

Re: Power Supplies?

The Dunlop brick is good for a few pedals, however it is like a power bar, where every pedal is into its own "outlet" like a daisy chain, where the Voodoo lab is isolated power for each pedal. So the Voodoo lab is better if you have lots of pedals or money

Re: Progress on the Concorde!!!

Where are these guitars made, Asia I'm guessing? I'm looking at getting a custom order guitar from them but like were you I'm not confident I'm going to get a quality guitar which is why I'm very interested in this thread and your experience. It sounds like a few of you here have had good experience...

Re: V picks

I personally use the EVH picks, easy to grip, good action..only complaint is after about 20 minutes..they loose some of their tension (i.e. become too flexible)..but put it down for an hour and it's back in action! I find that too, they get really soft, I really dont like them and wouldn't recommen...

Re: RANDY RHOADS - Polkadot Flying V - HD VIDEO - RareElectr

Ed didn't have anything custom because he customized it himself with the slanted pickup, one volume, etc... However, he did get custom guitars done for him after that one guitar, Bumblebee onwards were custom made. Today "custom" is different from then because of all the people doing it no...

Re: RANDY RHOADS - Polkadot Flying V - HD VIDEO - RareElectr

Yeah, you could build an object that looked like a guitar for the same price Randy paid in 1978, $750. It will even make a sound. I think sometimes people forget that money bought more in the past, because of inflation. Randy's guitar would have cost around 3 Thousand dollars roughly today. Same wi...

Re: George Lynch Created The Tapping Part Of Flying High Aga

Borrowing and making it your own is a part of music, Crazy Train and Mr Scary riffs are just recycled Paganini. I agree that George never got to Randy's level of writing, arranging, composing etc... I think he was a better guitarist but Randy was a far better musician. I dont think George was consc...

Re: George Lynch Created The Tapping Part Of Flying High Aga

I've heard this a few times before. I believe it because George not only does the part Randy uses, but also the rest of run that Randy didn't use, and I doubt he would have come up with a part to follow only to make it sound more believable to people that he came up with the run. It is rumoured that...

Re: The Holy Grail- Ozzy Osbourne

Really cool to hear, the vocal melody in the first clip is identical (slightly faster) to a melody in God is Dead from 13. The solo in the last clip was my favourite, it shows the classical/metal thing that he was going with and maybe is where he would have gone more so after Ozzy. It is very classi...

Re: Randy Marshall

I wonder if it was a 79 based JMP circuit of the time that the amp was based off of, because if it was then the cascade was already being done to the master volume amps and he essentially got the best of both worlds. He got the MV amp on one half of the inputs and a more standard Superlead on the ot...
