Now I know why RR chose an MXR Distortion +...
The complaint-worthy volume drop of this pedal finally becomes an asset on that monster of an amp he used.
MY GOD, the volume surge on my 1959RR is crazy. I can actually take the amp off ZERO to achieve neighborhood friendly volume with the Volume cut on the M104.

Re: Randy's White Marshall vs 1959RR
bands did that back in the day too, so it's possible that this included Randy as well 8) Definitely my contention for Smaller venue "B" shows with RR. I don't think he/they were using them as props merely for the sake of props, but more of a consistent stage setup that was used partially/...

Hey, Blues... Good to see you on over here! The upper fret access is a definite given... the "concorde" is inhibited from the 15th or so down, whereas the "black one" is clear down to the 19th. I imagine the pup switch was another inconvenience being top mounted, and prone to bei...

Randy's Concorde has been thrown around way too liberally over the years, and now I would like to get this straight. Story 1: Randy began working with Grover on his own guitar, cobbling the design on a cocktail napkin. The sleek design reminded him of the supersonic aircraft he had the opportunity t...

Re: All my Randy gear for sale!
question about the MXR... Did randy in fact use a '79 block? I was curious to know whether he used an old script or an early block. Thanks!

which Strap did RR use on his black Rhoads?
I know he used python on his LP and that elaborate black leather one with the studs/conchos/etc. on his White Original Sin. What about his black stringthrough?

Re: Randy's White Marshall vs 1959RR
I find difficulty with the statement that a White JMP Plexi RI that was limited to 150 units worldwide a ripoff, especially seeing how the money went to the Rhoads scholarship foundation, but hey, I'm looking forward to seeing how I get ripped off when mine arrives this week. :) As for how much he p...

Hello guys, I left a hello in the welcome forum: http://www.ultimaterhoads.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5945 , but I should probably say hello here seperately, as I figure most of my visiting will be around here. Some of you may know me (v-man) elsewhere on the gear fora, but enough about me. The goo...

Hey guys
Some of you may know me by the same name on some of the guitar forums. Thinking of how to make my introduction, I was reflecting on Randy and how he shaped my life, and looking back on the he was part of my life is actually quite striking, now that I think about it. The first recording I ever bought...
