Re: The "Lift" and guitarist abuse...

hair pull to brad gillis too. And if you want to see a real gut-buster, the attempted "lift" of Gillis will have you rollin' in the floor. it's on the "speak of the devil' dvd, i believe during MC. I don't think he even get's him off the floor!

Re: Which performances are on the Live CD?

i believe the spotlight solo is compiled from several different sources. correct me if i'm wrong, but i've never heard any of Randy's solos roll through so quick. And the staccato piece(@ 6m10s), i think was lifted from a Quiet Riot recording. Almost identical to the one on the Randy Rhoads Years cd...

Re: Ozzy/Randy footage possibilities

as far as it being up to the band, i'm not too sure if they had any say in the matter. those systems were used for closed circuit televisions in the box seating. i've got KISS footage dating back to 1976 from the Summit in houston and they released the concerts from detroit '76 and on. of course vcr...

Ozzy/Randy footage possibilities

Here's a shot in the dark(no pun intended), If Ozzy played the Houston Summit, Detroit's Cobo Hall, or the Capital Center in Largo, Maryland during the BOO or DOAM tours, there is more than likely some pro shot footage. After years of video collecting, i'm of the conclusion that these venues had in ...

Re: The Coveted White (Creme) Les Paul

and the verdict is in....Kelly Garni confirmed, most likely belonged to one of Randy's students. Randy owned only one Les Paul. Wonder if that student still owns that guitar?..... Well, case closed for me! Thanks for everyones input. Especially Kelly Garni!

Re: The Coveted White (Creme) Les Paul

I would accept that reasoning Meadsie, except it seems the same guitar appears at the Starwood show from 10-26-79. Wow, so you don't think Kevin could have had a friend for a long time? Maybe his friend's Les Paul inspired the purchase of Randy's Les Paul? (Yeah, Yeah Mick Ronson, blah blah blah) R...

Re: The Coveted White (Creme) Les Paul

I would accept that reasoning Meadsie, except it seems the same guitar appears at the Starwood show from 10-26-79. He also had the snakeskin strap by then and in the Whiskey photo, Randy's still got the black strap with the bowtie pin on it.That photo appears to be older than the Starwood video. I d...

Re: The Coveted White (Creme) Les Paul

Thanks to Slingblade, my suspicions are riled again. check it for yourself. something i noticed, in many of his photos, there doesn't appear to be "RANDY RHOADS" on the pick gaurd. And trust me, I looked at every picture slingblade posted. Even in some of the blurry ones, you can still see...

Don Costa???

Don't know why it matters, but does anyone know the whereabouts of the infamous Don Costa? To my knowledge, I've only seen 2 photos of him from his days(litarally) with Ozzy. One of them in the Ozzy Osbourne Photobook from around '83 and one in Hit Parader magazine with Ozzy holding a banana. If my ...

Re: The master of the Fender, Mr. Joe Holmes!!!

I had the honor of meeting Joe in Memphis along with Mike Bordin, Robert Trujillo, and Peter Steele(R.I.P.). I can also say that I'm the proud owner of the dreaded metal pick that broke the string during Mr.Crowley(recorded a week or so before). I asked Joe what happened, and he gave me the play by ...

Re: The Coveted White (Creme) Les Paul

I'm sure the Les Paul that Gibson viewed was Randy's prize guitar. My friend at Gibson assures me of that. And yes it's most assuredly a 1974 custom. I guess I just wanna know the origin of the other guitar in the video. Was it Randy's also? Was it a students? I know there are documented photos of R...

Re: The Coveted White (Creme) Les Paul

of course, after reading the liner notes of Quiet Riot TRRY, it states that Randy played "an early 60's white Gibson Les Paul". That would make Randy's guitar quite possibly one of the rarest in the world, considering only 3 were shipped from Gibson in 1961, and those were most likely SG/L...

The Coveted White (Creme) Les Paul

A few weeks ago, as i watched the Quiet Riot Starwood show from Oct 26,1979, I made what i thought was a profound discovery. During Randy's solo, as he moves to his left side of the stage, there is ANOTHER WHITE LES PAUL sitting on a stand! After a phone call to a friend who works for Gibson, he tol...
