Lee Garver at GMW Guirtars is building my RR-V for me!!! And, here it is!!!
Looks AWESOME!!!!!! I love the color too! I also love how he painted the cavity covers. The fingerboard looks like Cocobolo rosewood, one of my most favorite woods. Enjoy the PDV!!!!!

Geez, I'm surprised Ross Halfin hasn't threatened us to remove these pics from the site.

Re: Building Your Own Guitar

Thanks Blues, much appreciated! I'm as insecure about my woodworking as my playing, especially thanks to bonehead mistakes like the ones I mentioned. But I really enjoy both, and that's all that matters.

 Wow, you did a phenomenal job with the airbrushing!!! I'd give anything to be able to airbrush like that! It looks right up there with Jason Oberly's work! Julian did a fantastic job on the build too! Congrats!!

These are really cool! How did you do the snakeskin body?

Re: Building Your Own Guitar

Here's some stuff I made over 20 years ago, while I was taking a guitarmaking course, and then worked for the instructor for a year afterwards. My first build, a nylon string acoustic. Notice the revolutionary neck design -- wide at the nut for chordal fingerings, tapering at the high end for playin...

Re: Building Your Own Guitar

You're never too old for pointy guitars!! I finally built my "dream guitar" that I had drafted out on paper over 25 years ago! I'm still waiting until it's warm enough to finish it though. I had to wait 6 months to finally receive shipment of my specialty lacquer, it's a holographic clear ...

Tom Morello and Jason Oberly with the Randy Rhoads 30th Anniversary Tribute Guitar!
That thing is incredible!!! Any idea what the story is behind it? Is it Tom's guitar?

The front has portraits of Randy airbrushed on it:

Re: A Les Paul w/o routed holes nor chambered zones nor "pan

Rumor has it that Slash actually had some of his Les Pauls made by ghost builders. Apparently several companies subcontract to ghost builders, and even luthiers are known to ghost build for other luthiers. Ed Roman has an interesting article at his site: http://www.edroman.com/rants/ghost.htm Premie...

Musonia Article

There's a couple cool little tid bits about the family in this article I never heard before, such as Delores appearing in a 1951 Carey Grant film, "People Will Talk", both on screen and in the soundtrack!

Randy Rhoads Fact Sheet

This just surfaced on Facebook, thought it was the coolest thing I'd seen in quite some time! A fact sheet that was filled out by Randy himself, that appears to have been done for a Japanese fan club? Some answers really surprised me.

I agree, I like it when my favorite sites have it too. They're called 'favicons', and are easy to install. It's always good to use your logo for it if you can, so you could do something like this: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e17/Whipper6709/favicon_16.jpg Here it is in the proper favicon forma...

Re: IS THIS A REAL RANDY RHOADS AUTOGRAPH

Whipper, by 'above item' are you referring to the 'cliffdimerandy' post above yours? You are correct. CDR was the eBay seller as well. The cousin's IP address is from a town about 20 miles from the seller's town, in a province here in Canada where CDR is from, so that all checks out. I didn't bothe...

Re: IS THIS A REAL RANDY RHOADS AUTOGRAPH

I had the strangest eBay experience ever with the above item -- it was put up on eBay a week after this post, I won it. The next day after winning the auction it was cancelled by the seller, claiming it got damaged. A minute after that notice was received I got an email from someone claiming to be t...
