Re: Randy Rhoads 2014 Masterclass (Teaser)
Very cool, Will. If you do this and do this well (as it seems your on your way to), you'll get a lot of hits on YouTube and properly teach how these classic songs should be played. At the same time, you'll connect kids who love and want to play the music back to Randy and bring some more fans aboard...

Re: little idea how Randy would have played on Speak of the
I thought the issue of how SOTD came to be was outlined in Rudy's book? That was the beginning of the end between Randy and Ozzy, and probably sealed the deal for him wanting to move on from the circus life under Ozzy's Big Tent.

Re: Why do you stay loyal to randy?
The playing of Randy Rhoads hit me square in the face with such force during the summer of 1981 that it has left an imprint that will never recede or fade away. I can STILL remember hearing, "I Don't Know" for the first time, while on a carnival ride at the Wilmington, MA, 4th of July (Ind...
Re: Ozzy live
Hmmm...If most of this show is Montreal, why keep "Flying High Again" in its original form and then edit the heck out of every other track so they are almost unrecognizable? I worked on and put together CD's of Cleveland and Montreal using the original material and I know the stuff inside ...

Re: Diary of a Madman Concert Footage
Nick, You need to carefully and steadfastly pursue any leads that you have. A reliable source at the defunct Capitol Theater wouldn't balk at snapping a photo of the reel or (if possible) sending you a screen shot from the live footage itself. I, personally, would drive down to meet anyone connected...

Re: Singers Randy Would Have Been Cool With
I would love to see Michael Sweet of Stryper get involved in some of the RR Tributes and hear him sing more Ozzy songs. He has an incredible range and a strong set of pipes, and is one of the most underrated and best rock singers out there, especially compared to his 80's contemporaries. Stryper did...

Re: Diary of a Madman Concert Footage
Nick, I think the Capitol Theater footage issue is a bit more complex... Steve Machat, lawyer for Don Arden (Jet Records) states in his book, "Gods, Gangsters, and Honor" that he sold the Capitol Theater footage to MusicMaker.com, Inc., for Don Arden (who owned it and all copyrights) in th...

Re: Clips from the Randy Rhoads Remembered concert.
You know who would've sounded good singing the Ozzy songs? Some of you may laugh, but Michael Sweet (Stryper) STILL has amazing pipes and can hit all of those high notes. I don't have a link to it, but Stryper's album a few years ago, "The Covering" had him singing "Over the Mountain&...

Re: Bob Daisley Holy Grail Audio
Very, very, very, very cool. Thanks so much, Bob - we love you and owe you a lot for your hand in the creation of these songs so beloved to us. As much as we love and miss Randy here, Bob holds the key to the history of these amazing albums and their evolution into timeless classics. Much love and r...

Re: Ace Frehley/You Can't Kill Rock and Roll
I wish I could source that for you, but I can only remember Ozzy saying, "we stole a lot of things. no, we didn't really steal them, but they were just out there staring you in the face." I believe he mentioned lifting Diary of a Madman from one of Randy's guitar lessons and talked about P...

Re: Ace Frehley/You Can't Kill Rock and Roll
Good coincidence. I'm wondering, since the original working title of this song was, "Floydian" - and I'm guessing that to mean it sounded like a Pink Floyd song, are there any Waters / Gilmour compositions that sound like YCKRNR? I'm thinking this based on Ozzy saying in a past interview t...

Re: Grail Tapes Q&A
Given that all songs were recorded at various stages, what would you most like to hear if you could hear snippets of the Grail? Also, do you have any questions about the contents of the tapes that haven't been answered? Just wondering... All the songs Bob, Lee, and Randy worked on ended up perfectl...

Re: ' The Grail ' contents...
These would be interesting to hear as a one-off kind of thing, but I'll not kid myself or anyone here by saying I'd listen to these over and over again - let's face it, I am here because I love Blizzard and Diary, the way they were written, recorded, and produced. They are classics I would take to a...

Thank You, Frank!
I just want to give thanks, once again, to Frank Santa Cruz, who keeps on visiting this site and sharing his memories and conversations with Randy Rhoads. We here at Ultimate Rhoads are SO BLESSED to have one of Randy's best friends drop by from time and time and let us in on his friendship with our...

Re: Do you think more Randy Rhoads pro audio exists? Yes!!!
You know, I think some of the best live stuff is here on this site...mostly complete shows that aren't touched up at all. I love Tribute, but wish Ozzy released it without re-doing his vocals and without substituting the 7.28.81 Montreal guitar solo. I love the 7.28.81 Montreal show and wish that sh...
