Re: RANDYS ON STAGE PICKS
And notice those picks taped to his cab in the pics, do not look like Fender tortoise shell picks. They look like Dunlops most likely. I have seen pics from people who have a Randy pick, and they are usually Fender tortoise shell picks. It's well known that he used Fender mediums. But again, those a...

Re: Gibson RR model unveiled
To put this in a bit better perspective. Remember the hand re-created Eddie Van Halen Frankenstein, and Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar that went for around $25,000..with all the little marks, including cigarette burn marks, etc.? $9880 for this LP is merely a fraction of those outrageously priced diamon...

Re: Day on the Green California photos + Randy's fav photo
Check out "Lynyrd Skynyrd" playing there a couple years earlier: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-_8xivRTsY Where are the cams....? (at 0:28 someone was filming all the way from the other side of the stadium across the stage, the entire stage is visible upper left there) Yeah somebody was...

Re: Randy's classical guitar
OKay,well I found the article & it was in a Heavy Metal Guitar Book from like 1985 & had alot of cut up quotes from Randy,Ozzy Dee,Kelle,Rudy,Tommy,Max Don Airey ect.ect. But part of Ozzys quote on that is here "Randys heart was in the classics,to be honest;he wanted to be a classical ...

Re: Randy's classical guitar
Yes Matt....even if it was $1300 like David's (RRElectricAngel's).....that might be like $8000-$10000 today!
I bet he spent most (if not all) of that first royalty check on that classical guitar!

Re: Randy's classical guitar
I recall reading somewhere Ozzy saying that shortly before Randy died he had bought a very, very expensive Classical guitar. EDIT--actually the more I think of it,Ozzy may have said it was Randys first Big Royalty/Recording Check, that was when Randy bought that guitar. Basically you've repeated what...

Re: Randy's classical guitar
Yeah, I think that's backstage at El Paso. Notice the shape of the headstock is the same as the photographers Garcia brand. Wonder if Randy was impressed with his, and got one of the same guitars?
Nah, probably a different brand with the same headstock.

Re: Randy's classical guitar
If my memory serves me right, the photographer of that photoshoot said in an interview that Randy saw this classical guitar during that shoot, picked it up, and then remembered that same classical guitar from a few years earlier when the members of Quiet Riot had been photographed by the same guy. R...

Randy's classical guitar
I remember Ozzy saying in an interview that before Randy died that he had bought an expensive classical guitar with some of his royalties. Whatever happened to Randy's classical guitar? I assume it would have been given to Delores, but I've never heard anyone who visited Musonia say anything about i...
