Re: Randy's Tuning Live ?
I use all sorts of different tunings in my playing from std. to bluegrass tunings like dadgad and everything in between. I've always looked at a different tuning as kind of like a different "flavor" so to speak, like certain foods call for different ingredients, certain songs call for diff...

Port Vale Footage
Hey everybody, its been a long while since I've been here, hope you are all doing well. I was just wondering if any of you have seen the footage from Heavy Metal Holocaust in Port Vale that is up on youtube. There is no audio, but there is maybe a minute of silent footage with Ozzy and Randy (not gr...

Re: Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen Question.
Hey, The story about Warren was in a forum, maybe the gear page or metro amps, I can't remember for sure, It may have even been an interview with Pearcy. It is also of note, that Warren's famed Marshall (the one Lay It Down was recorded on and the same one Marshall looked at for one of its re-issue ...

Re: Did Jake Like Randy
In the very first interview I ever saw with Jake, prior to the release of BATM, he said he thought Randy was the best guitar player he had heard post-Eddie. He was a fan, but he also took on the toughest slot anyone has ever had to, and its kinda like I heard Zakk say about it, "Randy Rhoads an...

Re: ***BRAND NEW RANDY FOOTAGE!!**
It's kinda eery watching silent footage of Randy to me because you can just see that undeniable "star" quality that he had but you don't hear him. Even though I'd love to hear this show to, it kind of puts his loss in perspective for me in a lot of ways.

Re: Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen Question.
Ed was a lot more aware of most of the 80's guys than you might think, there are several of them that have taken up Ed's offer to come visit him at 5150 studios, the one that comes to mind immediately is Paul Gilbert. I have also read that it was Ed who took Warren Demartini to the Charvel factory f...

Re: Whitesnake Live 2011
I never realized how much Randy had an influence on him until I saw him live, and Doug is just the coolest most down to earth guy you'd ever want to meet. I kinda get the feeling WS is gonna tour this year but have not heard anything official, if they do and they come anywhere close to me, I will be...

Re: New Van Halen
I personally like Ed's tone and solo on the new song, I thought his phrasing was just fabulous, really fat guitar tone to, not vintage Marshall but still great. As far as the song itself, is it "old" Van Halen? No, but you shouldn't expect it to be either, I like it okay, Dave is Dave both...

Go to the forum at peavey.com and post your problem in the amplifier section. People there can and will help, especially if you can get Enzo to reply.

Re: Jake E. Lee spotted!
According to blabbermouth (if you can believe them, lol!!), Jake actually did play the solo on this song. I like it, just really good to see the man with a guitar in his hands again.

Re: Ozzy Needs To Release Official Live Jake Album
I'd like to see them do a "Jake" box set that included the original recordings (not remasters) of "BATM" and "TUS" plus all the b-sides like "One Up" etc, and dvd's of live performances from 83' Dortmund, The US Festival, Salt Lake City, 84' Donington, plus Th...

Re: Heaviest Song From Randy Rhoads Era?
I've always thought the main riff in "Suicide Solution' was just heavy as hell. That opening riff always hits like a ton of bricks. "Over The Mountain" is just a beast, even with the soft part in the bridge, that song is still extremely heavy to me.

Re: Most Under-Rated Randy Song?
If I was only looking at BOO it would be "No Bone Movies", love Randy's solo in that, and I always liked that it was a little different sounding, kinda bluesy to me.

Ian,
You have a good heart, brutal death is something that should never be celebrated. I understand the relief of freedom from years of a dictator's rule, but I just don't have it in me to hate that way, and I hope I never do.
