Re: Anybody seen this?

Flaps had nothing to do with the crash. Flaps are on the wing of a plane to help create lift when a plane is flying slow. It decreases the stall speed of the wing allowing a plane to be controlled during slow flight (such as landing). They only move one way (down or stowed) and in the ntsb photo of ...

Re: FOOTAGE!!

Just simply fantastic. It's the small things that get me sometimes. I have always wondered about the start of the show. Still to this day, the Diary tour is without a doubt the coolest fucking stage to ever exist. To finally see how the Throne pulls back and the start of Tommy's drums start to rise ...

Paul Wolfe wrote:
You are new to music? Van Halen sold better after Dave than with Dave. Without Ed Van Halen would have been the David Lee Roth band, and we know how well that went.
That's actually incorrect Paul. Roth sold over 50 million with Van Halen and Hagar just over 40.

Re: Jake E Lee talks about Randy.

I got to give Ozzy a lot of credit. George's style would just not fit with Ozzy. Randy was the perfect fit. Having said that, I agree with some others. George Lynch is simply phenomenal, and in my opinion a better "guitarist" than Randy. Randy had musicianship in spades, and was simply the...

Re: little idea how Randy would have played on Speak of the

Randy playing on Speak, probably would be (to me, at least) mind blowing. Randy's "version" of the Sabbath tunes he did play are just incredible. Maybe it was because he hated playing them, or maybe he was just bored in playing them, but he really, really, became "unbridled" when...

Re: George Lynch reflects on Randy & Musonia

I've been lucky enough to meet George a couple times, starting way back in the late 80's and he has always been a really cool guy. Great to read this. Favorite story of George: He played a show back in the early 90's in my hometown. There was a hotel in town that every band that came through stayed ...

Re: New hope for the 'Legacy'?

dfanucci, I agree with most of the points you make here, as they are good AND valid points. I don't think anyone doubts how hard it is to lose someone - it's very traumatic, and it changes your life forever. Having dealt with that before, I know. I don't presume to know how Randy's family, or Frank...

Re: New hope for the 'Legacy'?

I have to say I'm disappointed by your comments, Frank, but hey, if that's what you feel, so be it. It's just kind of disappointing that all Randy's fans seem to be included in that comment and its implications. Some of us don't clamour for everything, and are happy with what we have. But again, th...

Re: Why TOmy Aldridge (or is it Lee??) did change the drum p

Lee was fantastic on the recordings. There is no doubt about that. For me, I absolutely love Tommy's playing of the songs live. Great stuff. Tidbit of cool info -- If you listen to the Cleveland show, pay close attention to Children of the grave. During the bridge of the song, Tommy actually loses o...

Re: March 19,1982~Where Were U?

The day he died I was not around a radio, tv, or telephone. My buddy and I at the time were huge Ozzy/Rhoads fans. I'll never forget it. We both had paper routes (I was 14) and before we would start delivering we would always read the paper. My buddy was thumbing through the paper and went ghost whi...

Was watching the New Mexico footage and it appears that both Randy and Rudy are running wireless. If so, I had no clue. This might explain why I also thought Randy's tone was a little bit more muddy then during the first tour. I always thought it was the castle which of course it could be....

Re: Randy rumour over at Bob's FB ?

Unless Don or Jake come forward with a different story or the FAA produces documentation, I'll forever believe it was an accident based on them dive bombing similar to the kamikaze in the movie they watched the night before. Absolutely agree. There are just too many things that point to it being an...

Stlrox, This is post number 2 for me as I just joined as well. I don't think Romeo was "calling you out" it just seems to be his personality. I gotta say, that Romeo rubbed me the wrong way when I first starting reading his stuff, but he sure as hell has backed up everything he has posted....
