That`s great you got to play that guitar.. ..maybe not so good that the guy let you play it as RR may have not wanted that to happen...but I think any fan would jump on that opportunity. Who knows. Everything I've heard about Randy has depicted him as a warm-hearted, kind person. I don't think he w...

I was at that Palace show. Rudy was there, Tommy too. Dee Snider's Widowmaker played SATO, Phantom Blue played Little Dolls. Jake E Lee played Flying High Again with Glenn Hughes on vocals. Let's see, I think Howard Leese of Heart performed with Lita Ford, not sure. It was a very cool night.

I think that's some wicked tone on that Gary Moore vid. I agree, we all clearly like different types of tone.

I have to agree with Matt. Your amp/gear give you your tone - midrange boosted EQ, etc through a Marshall w/Altecs ala Randy or no mids via Mesa Boogie Rectifiers through Vintage 30s ala Metallica. Your 'sound'; however, is in your fingers, attack, etc. Randy first auditioned for OzzY via his little...

Speaking of dream guitars, well sorta - is there a post here of UR members that have and/or post pics of their Jackson Rhoads guitars?

Thanks guys. If you visit my music page at http://www.myspace.com/rubenreza you will hear about 4 songs of my original instrumental music. Rockin' stuff, blues, jazz, even a flamenco inspired tune. Very unlike Randy Rhoads. :)

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Peace,
RR

Yeah, we're all good - no need for UFC, maybe KFC. :) I would love to play through that original white Marshall. Did that have Altecs as well? I have a mid 80s Burny Randy Rhoads model LP and a Jackson LTD #021 w/vintage trem - both very sweet gutars. I saw the Rhoads To Ozz vid that Matt linked up ...

That could very well be it. He had so much distortion/gain coming out of that amp on the Diary tour as compared to Blizzard tour. Running delay and chorus through all that distortion in the guitar line wouldn't have sounded too hot - no effects loop back then. I think we're on the path to figuring t...

A friend of mine said the same thing regarding some of the solos. The second solo for Mr. Crowley in the Kalamazoo MI show sounds like the neck pickup. Who knows; wonder if we'll ever know.

Does anyone know what effect Randy used on the Diary tour? His tone was very different. He said in an interview once that the sound man was adding alot more up front. I know they did the panning delay through the board but I wonder what type of chorus/modulation he had going on. It's a very unique s...
