Re: Finally getting a RR1!
If it was set up for drop C tuning, you'll most likely need to have the intonation adjusted as well. The Floyd adjustments are no big deal but if you've never done any of this work before, it's best that you took it to someone who knows what they're doing. It's a beautiful guitar. I'm sure once it's...

Well you see dino you had quoted me in 4 replies above , so i was wondering if you were replying to me .. that's all . It seemed a slightly smart ass pompous reply , was that your intention ? and as far as taking personal offense to information posted on this forum .. i gotta say dude .. shit , ya ...

and besides somebody was mentioning about removing string trees a PDV dose'nt have them anyhow I think they were just responding to the question regarding V-trems in general. Some manufactures don't use string trees, but those that do, do so for a reason (he he ... I said do do  ) For i...

Why isn't anyone mentioning some solutions to keep a vintage strat trem in tune? I don't think it was mentioned in this thread at all but.... remove string trees, any part on the guitar where the string will catch will knock it out of tune. Make sure the nut is loose and not pinching the strings, g...

I have Schaller strap locks on all of my guitars (with the exception of my EVH replicas, which have eyelet hooks). The Schallers are THE BEST locking system (in my opinion). I've been using them since the 80's, and no, they don't stick out or prevent your guitar from fitting in your case. The strap ...

Polka Dots ... what size?
Hey all!
Quick and easy question ...
I'm currently building a PDV replica and just want to confirm the size of the polka dots.
I believe they are 3/4" ... is this right?
Thanks!

The price aside, I don't have a lot of choices. I have searched for years for a place to paint my guitar (ie, I don't wanna give it to some pot head who'll paint it for me in his garage...that is a scary idea to me). GMW was one place, but they stopped doing it once I had gathered the 600-700 dolla...

Maybe it's just me, but anyone who has played for awhile should be capable of doing a good setup on their own guitar. Taking the thing apart is pretty simple, as is reassembly, with the exception of soldering the pickups back in - and even that can be done simply if you take the time to learn how. ...

Nah, they said they'd install/reinstall it all for me. 375 is MUCH cheaper than the close to 700 that GMW wanted. Just going by what's on their website ... If in fact disassembly, reassembly, rewiring, and a good setup is included in the price of the refin, than I would say $375 is a good p...
