Re: NGD- 1974 Les Paul Custom - "The Holy Grail"

T-tops are what Randy's LP had. The really come alive when driven hard by the amp or with a pedal. Chuncky yet loud and clear on the top end.

Re: NGD- 1974 Les Paul Custom - "The Holy Grail"

There are major differences between the 74 and 79. The 74 has a mahogany neck, 79 has maple. 74 has T-top pick ups, 79 has PAF. 74 has an ABR-1 bridge with with studs directly in the wood, the 79 has a Nashvile bridge. Randy's Strat from the QR Days - Where you can see it!

I posted this on another site. Seems the Strat that Randy has been pictured with was given or sold to a roadie. Apparently he still owns it but it is kept at a music store in Seattle. Awesome write up. This is the show I missed! My older brother tried to get me to go with him and I could not make it. I did see Randy in Feb of 82 but I had no idea it would be the only time.

Thank you for posting this. Awesome memories.

except for some incorrect factual data it is a cool article.

Randy's LP is actually a 1975 not a 1972 as stated in the article.
