Jake being back feels good!
Hey everyone, I know it's been a long time since I've posted or even stopped by but I'm here now and I just watched some great live performances of Jake's latest project "Red Dragon Cartel" and I have to say, Jake being back on stage tearing your face off feels pretty damn good! LoL He sti...

Re: Randy thought Jimmy Page had sloppy playing? Listen.....
Stairway to Heaven's one of my favorite guitar solo's! The studio version is beautiful but every time I've heard or seen Page play it live he pisses all over it! That's one thing I know Randy was keen on was reproducing the song live and keeping most phrasings and leads as close to the album as poss...

Re: Floyd Rose
Yngwie uses Fender standard trems and beats the piss out of them. He says there are no tuning issues with any of his strats.

Re: Randy's rhythm parts
Listen to just Randy's rhythm playing on Mr. Crowley and Crazy Train master tracks from GH. The multi-layered rhythm tracks are spotlessly clean and meticulously synced together! When I listened to them I was reminded of just how sloppy I will slap my rhythm tracks together. LoL

Re: Black Jackson
There is a picture of Randy tapping on the black Jackson. Where his fingers are fretted shows he can only be playing the solo for Flying High Again. Guess that helps solidify that axe for that song in some way.

Re: Were Randys Amps still used
Gillis played through MesaBoogie's when he was with Ozzy, from what I know and recall. He had that red strat with a built in Nady wireless system and a non-fine tuning Floyd Rose.

Re: Jake's relationship with Dana Strum...
I wouldn't say Ozzy did Dana dirty. In the music biz, when you have some one like Bob Daisley available and you pass on him, you just made a huge career blunder. Daisley was on a completely different level as a bass player and songwriter than Strum. Also much more on wavelength with the era's music...

The solo in "25 or 6 to 4" by Chicago, Peter Frampton's outro on "Do you feel like we do" the live one of course. Queen's "Dragon Attack" and "Sail Away Sweet Sister". All great rock solos

Re: Tony Iommi
Quite different lead styles for one and Iommi is one of the best heavy riff creators alive. I think he has been totally into his own music and song writing since Sabbath's 1970 debut.
