Topic: How much of Randy's look affected his popularity?

Image plays a huge role. Even if he still played like a motherfucker but looked like a 47 year old fat-n-bald plumber, people would be a little put off. On the same token, if he looked like he did but couldn't play worth a shit, he wouldn't have attained anything near what he did. The ladies would p...

There was a great article in a Guitar World last year about Buckethead's time with Axl Rose when he was working on Chinese Democracy. He did some strange things. For example, he had a chicken coop built in the studio to record in. One of the guys had a little dog running around, and the dog relieved...

THats fine if the film is delayed because with all these pointless interviews with people who didn't know Randy I was going to email Peter and ask him to interview David Bowie. Bowie didn't know Randy but that doenst matter AND! Bowie is amazing, and I love him! A delayed release might get my wish ...

Mr. Daisley,

When you and the guys were songwriting for BOO and DOAM, did the songs seem to produce themselves organically or was it a conscious, structured effort to produce a song?

Also, do you find yourself listening to those albums occasionally?

5-11-81 for sure. Of course, I'm so used to hearing the Tribute version with the spotlight copped from 7-21-81, that I'd say it's my favorite. I prefer the Montreal solo to the Cleveland one, but I think the rest of the Cleveland show was much tighter than Montreal.

I think somebody here actually has the vest. They ended up with it because Brad Gillis gave it to them or something. The post was kinda recent, maybe search around and see if you can turn it up. I think they said they were gonna take some pictures of it too.

Yes, I have had a couple. They're rare but so very cool when you do have them. I had one about being inside this huge mansion that was full of books, papers, and documents. It feels very bizarre to be dreaming and know that you're dreaming and having the ability to control yourself.

The documentary will be cool to see, but to me, the holy grail, is the pro shot Blizzard era dvd concert that will be coming out with the documentary. That's what I'm excited about. Wait...what? It can't be. I will lose all control of every bodily function I have if this is true. I certainly hope i...

I didn't even notice the price until now. What the hell is that guy thinking? Some twiddly little Ampeg that Randy may have played a handful of times, for $25,000. Perhaps for his white Marshall head, sure. For that? No way, what a tosser.

Lee, Thanks again for doing this. My question: when you guys were recording Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, were you solely responsible for coming up with your drum parts and ideas, or did you take any cues from Bob or Randy as far as what they envisioned for the song? For example, the big ro...

I think the SATO solo must have taken some working out; three key changes, the use of mainly melodic phrasing opposed to any repetitive sequences etc, and a real feeling that it contained Randy enjoying using all his trade mark Randy-isms to the full! :) I think to even come up with chord progressi...

Hey Ozzy, I'll do it!

Best of luck to him and whoever he picks. He seems to have a knack for choosing good guitar players. Hopefully another bloke with a Les Paul!

Found a pretty good guy on Youtube

A great deal of the Youtube videos are just rubbish, but I think this guy is pretty good. Nice commentary at the start and finish.

1-15-82 Minneapolis show - tone

I listened to this show last night, and I must say...despite the fact that it's not a soundboard recording and only a decent tape from the audience, I really dig Randy's tone in this show. It looks like Ozzy was having a rough time out there, and Randy really pulled out all the stops. Believer was g...
